I wandered off alone through the plaza by this point and enjoyed the nightlife that was present on the street at such a late hour. Three months! It’s all a little crazy when I think about it because it hasn’t felt that long at all. I have certainly learned so much in my time here, been exposed to a wide range of projects and tasks, it has definitely reinforced my belief in architecture as a career. </p> <p>I still remember how nervous I was on my first day. You never know what to expect on your first day and all I had running through my head were all the horror stories of how bosses can be brutallydemanding (especially in architecture). Thankfully, those were unfounded fears here and everyone has been a pleasure to work with since day one. The office culture is certainly unique, and I’m sure there is no better office in Melbourne who could have given me the privilege of working on such amazing projects whilst being supportive of my external volunteer work with the Australian Institute of Architects and professional development.</p> <p>After this year I know I&#8217;ll have a better understanding of what to expect from this lifestyle &amp; from myself. As much as I love working, I do actually miss university. The freedom of creativity and the people most of all. Life seemed a bit more adventurous as a student so I guess I miss that. It&#8217;s something I&#8217;ll return to soon enough, just nine months more..
